Lassithi Plateau and the Palace of Knossos from Heraklion!

Duration 10 hours approximately / Stay in Kera Monastery 30 minutes / Stay in Psychro approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes / Stay in Tzermiado 1 hour and 20 minutes / Stay in Knossos approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes

Our first stop is at the historical monastery of Kera Kardiotissa, inhabited and run by nuns. Here you can admire the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary, plenty of frescoes and a variety of other icons, dating back to the 14^th century.

Then we head to Lasithi Plateau, which is situated 850 m. higher than the sea level. It is surrounded by the Dikti Mountains and 18 quaint villages, which still retain the atmosphere of another era. You can admire the remaining famous windmills and the venetian ditches, the drainage system of the Plateau.

The next stop will be the village of Psychro. You can visit the Dicteon Cave with the fantastic stalactites and stalagmites, where according to the myth God Zeus were born.

Tzermiado, the capital of the villages on the plateau, will amaze you with its natural beauty, it’s traditional architecture and its breathtaking views. Here you can relax and enjoy your lunch in one of the local taverns.

Our last stop will be the palace of Knossos, the capital of the Minoan state which was the first European civilization. Here you will have a guided tour and you will learn about King Minos, the Minotaur, the Labyrinth and other interesting mythologies. A must for Crete, one of the most amazing sights on the island.

09.30    Arrival in Kera Monastery

10:00    Departure from Monastery

10:30    Arrival in Psychro – visit to the cave

11:45     Departure from Psychro

11:50    Arrival at the pottery workshop

12:30    Arrival in Tzermiado – time for lunch

15:00    Arrival in Knossos

17:00    Departure from Knossos – Arrival at Heraklion

The timing of the program will be approximate, depending on traffic and weather conditions

Remember to bring‼️ Sun Cream, Sunglasses and Hat, Long-Sleeved Shirt for Sensitive skin

Important Notes

1. Mandatory use of face covering and pre-boarding health
   declaration questionnaire is required, filled by all adults. Please
   download it here and have it filled before boarding on bus
2. The travel agency reserves the right to alter or cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions or insufficient passengers number or force majeure 12 hours prior to departure time with a notification to the traveler.
3. Please arrive on time to the given pick-up point. Unfortunately, there is no option to wait for latecomers. In case of delay, missed pick-up, missed departure time, no refunds.
