Spinalonga – Agios Nikolaos from Rethymno!

This excursion takes you to the east side of Crete. We drive by Heraklion until Agios Nikolaos, a small town with a picturesque harbour where you find one of the two sweet water lakes of Crete. North of Agios Nikolaos is the well known port of Elounda from where you will take the boat to visit and explore the island of Spinaloga.

The history and the culture of the island of Spinalonga became one with human tragedy in the course of time. This small isle carries within the history of Ancient Greece, as it served as a natural guard for the ancient city of Olous; the history of the Saracens as a hide-out for their pirates; the history of Venetians as their fortress; the history of Turks as their settlement.The island was used as a Leper Colony until 1957. You can also swim to the crystal clear waters.

1. Mandatory use of face covering and pre-boarding health
   declaration questionnaire is required, filled by all adults. Please

2. The travel agency reserves the right to alter or cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions or insufficient passengers number or force majeure 12 hours prior to departure time with a notification to the traveler.
3. Please arrive on time to the given pick-up point. Unfortunately, there is no option to wait for latecomers. In case of delay, missed pick-up, missed departure time, no refunds.
